1. Why should I use your services?

You want to focus on your core business, and you know that finding talented people can be frustrating and time consuming. You may have run some ads, or done some networking, and have not been impressed with the caliber of candidates that responded. Or you may have gotten such a big response that you do not have the time or staff to screen all the candidates.

Why not take advantage of our expertise in quickly understanding the requirements for success in your organization, figuring out where to find good people, conducting effective interviews, and attracting the best candidates? If you provide an effective channel for communication and fill us in on your company and its needs, we will provide a small number of qualified referrals for you to interview.

2. What distinguishes Edelman & Associates from other recruiters?

We specialize in the software and biotech industries. The requirements for candidates in these industries are often highly specific and technical. Paul Edelman and his research staff have the intelligence, professionalism, and industry knowledge to locate and work effectively with these talented individuals.

We are careful and precise in assessing candidates qualifications. Generally, we try to fill a position in one to three referrals. Because of our excellent judgement, you will find that it is often worth putting aside your stack of resumes and acting quickly when we refer a candidate.

4. What is your fee structure and guarantee policy?

Edelman & Associates offers recruiting services on either a contingency or modified-retainer fee basis:

Contingency Recruiting: You pay a one-time referral fee only if you hire a candidate we referred for your consideration. The fee is calculated as a percentage of the employee's base salary.

Modified-Retainer Recruiting: For clients who seek to fill especially high priority positions, or in cases where it is anticipated that a search will require a substantial investment in research, we offer a modified-retainer arrangement. These fees are calculated as a percentage of the employee's base salary. You pay one third (33 1/3%) of the estimated fee as a non-refundable advance against the anticipated contingency fee. In the event that you hire a candidate referred by us, you pay the remaining 2/3 of the fee calculated. If no hire is made, you can carry the initial advance forward as a credit against a future contingency fee.

Guarantee Policy: If the candidate you hire through us leaves your company voluntarily, or is terminated for cause, during the first three months of employment, we will either supply a satisfactory replacement without additional charge, or issue a refund based on the following schedule:
  • within 30 days: 100% for contingency searches, 66 2/3% for modified-retainer
  • 31 to 60 days: 66 2/3%
  • 61 to 90 days: 33 1/3%
If the candidate is terminated for reasons unrelated to performance or suitability for the job, the guarantee does not apply. To activate the guarantee, the fee must be paid within 30 days of the candidate's first date of employment.
